Funded by a £10.1 million capital appeal, The Catherine Lewis Centre offers leukaemia patients an attractive, comfortable environment in which they can be treated to the latest clinical standards. It includes a:

  • Fourteen-roomed ward with en suite bathrooms for patients
  • Modern system of air-filtration to reduce the risk of infection
  • Day-care area where outpatients can be treated in comfort and privacy
  • Clinical Trials Unit
  • Stem cell processing laboratory

Opened in June 2002, the centre was immediately hailed as a flagship addition to the National Health Service.
